Dog registration and dog ownership

Under Section 4 of the Lower Austrian Dog Ownership Act, dogs must be registered without delay in the municipality where the dog owner has their main residence.

Registration

You can easily register using the online form provided by the market town of Guntramsdorf. Any required supporting documents can be uploaded directly:

  • Proof of competence / Lower Austrian dog licence
  • Dog liability insurance

If online registration is not possible, you can register in person at the Citizens’ Service Centre.

Cancellation

You must immediately notify the market town of Guntramsdorf in writing when:

  • Moving to another municipality
  • Death of the dog
  • Transfer of the dog to another person

The obligation to pay tax continues until the date of official deregistration.

Each dog must have appropriate liability insurance.</p

Upper limit

A maximum of five dogs may be kept per household.</p
