The Guntramsdorf Chronicle

The historical records of the market town of Guntramsdorf are rooted in a long-standing tradition:

  • 1897: First edition of the *Chronicle of Guntramsdorf* by senior teacher Josef Müller.

  • 1957: First edition of the ‘Chronicle of Guntramsdorf’ by Vicar Josef Knoll.

  • 1967 to 1989: Publication of several updated editions.

  • 2004: Publication of the most recent edition to date, edited by OAR Johann Bellositz.

Availability and hire

Printed copies of the local history are currently out of print and not available in shops. A copy is available for viewing and loan at the library in the town hall. A comprehensive revised edition of the local history is currently being prepared.

 

 

Special issues of the local chronicle

In addition to the main chronicle, specialised special editions document specific aspects of the parish’s history:

80 years of Neu-Guntramsdorf (special issue 1)

This publication, written by OAR Johann Bellositz, was published in 2018. The booklet is available from the Citizens’ Service Centre for €5.

Guntramsdorf Volunteer Fire Brigade 1872-2022 (Special Issue 2)

Robert Moser’s book, published in 2023, traces the 150-year history of the fire service. Any remaining copies can be requested directly from the Guntramsdorf Volunteer Fire Brigade.
